Devils Island
Lying 10 miles off the coast of French Guiana, Devil’s Island w as once part of France’s most notorious prison settlement. One of the ‘Salvation’ islands it is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world and, hence, a perfect place to escape from crowds.

The Iles du Salut comprise the three small islands of Ile Royale, Ile Saint Joseph and Devil's Island. Go ashore on Ile Royale and see the museum, huge penitentiary and chapel and look across to Devil's Island.
