Beechey Island
It is here we give homage to Sir John Franklin and his men who spent the winter of 1845-46 at Beechey before disappearing forever. This tragedy motivated one of the greatest search missions ever known.
Bylot Island
This island, designated a migratory bird sanctuary, is an important nesting ground for over 50 species of birds including Greater Snow Geese, Snowy Owls, Peregrines and Gyrfalcon.
Coburg Island
Mostly covered in glaciers and ice fields, the rest of the island is largely rugged with peaks reaching over 800 m above sea level. This wildlife reserve is home to the Black-legged Kittiwakes, Northern Fulmars and Thick-billed Murres that crowd the rocky ledges of the cliffs.
Lancaster Sound
Renowned for its whales - narwhal, beluga and bowhead - there is a good chance to catch a glimpse of these and other animals the area is known for such as polar bears, Arctic seals and large concentrations of seabirds ranging 26 species.
Resolute
A morning departure to Resolute - located high above the Arctic Circle - commences your voyage. There will be a brief tour of the town and tea at the Narwhal Hotel before sailing in the evening.
Smith Sound
A desolate land, there are very few visitors who have explored this beautiful, rugged coastline. You'll follow the American Polar Route, weather and ice conditions permitting, land at Pim Island.
