Oceania Cruises

In 2002, cruise industry veterans Frank Del Rio and Joe Watters, former heads of Renaissance Cruises and Crystal Cruises respectively, teamed up to form Oceania Cruises, acquiring the former R1 and R2 of Renaissance Cruises, and renaming them Regatta and Insignia. Both ships have recieved a $5 million refurbishment and now offer an 'upper premium' cruise experience with higher levels of food and service. The onboard atmosphere is relaxed and reminiscent of the casual elegance of a country club. Tuxedos and gowns are never a requirement for dining so you can dress and enjoy the evening comfortably. The overall feeling is a country club atmosphere, one that is never stuffy and void of any pretension. Your spacious stateroom surrounds you with fine appointments. None are more impressive than our nearly 1,000-square-foot Owner's and Vista Suites where floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead to your private wraparound veranda. In fact, nearly 70% of our staterooms feature private verandas Oceania's food budget is approximately 25% greater than the top luxury lines. The executive culinary director is Jacques Pepin, one of America's best-known chefs, food columnists, cookbook authors, and cooking teachers. Entertainment features headliners, comedians, soloists, classical musicians and a comprehensive personal enrichment and lecture series.
